CatnRose Jewelry is a blend of tradition and exotic, creating unique, elegant, handmade one of kind necklaces, bracelets, earrings and more. Traditional freshwater pearls, combined with exotic gemstones, crystals, cloisonné and unique findings are redefining jewellery. CatnRose creates a line of jewellery that is traditional, unique and exotic at the same time.

Rose Valade is the owner and designer of CatnRose Jewelry. Her passion for jewellery was rivalled only by her desire to redesign the pieces that she had purchased during her time traveling and living throughout Europe and the Orient. When people started noticing her redesigned pieces the idea of starting her own line of jewellery began to form.  

Rose originally looked at working with vintage stones, redesigning them into original modern pieces. A trip to the Orient in February of 2003 soon changed Rose’s mind. For many year’s she had been fascinated and mesmerized by the natural visual experience of visiting the Orient. Her home, filled with treasures from her travels, along with her trip to Hong Kong soon convinced Rose that combining her two loves of jewellery and beautiful gemstones was the key to developing CatnRose Jewelry.

Inspiration has never been a problem for Rose. She spends hours everyday testing and playing with combinations of gemstones evaluating them for brilliance, size, patterns and colour. These combinations allow the line of jewellery to appeal to people of all ages. All customers can enjoy the high aesthetic quality of her designs, which reflects her attention to details, standards and style.

Rose personally seeks out and hand picks unique, original and high quality unfinished materials. Most freshwater pearls and gemstones like Peridot, Garnet, Tourmaline, Jade, Agates, Moonstones, Rose quartz and Amethyst are from suppliers in Asia.  Rose mainly utilizes Swarovski Austrian Crystals.  Rose uses very little gold. Most clasp and findings are Stirling Silver, silver-plated filigree and some pewter. All earring post and backing are of Stirling Silver to minimise allergic metal reaction.

The result has been a foray into changing the way people see jewellery. The goal of CatnRose has always been to give people an opportunity to wear beautiful and exotic jewellery for an economic price. Beyond this initial goal is the desire to break with tradition, but leave the elegance in place. A string of pearls, a strand of jade doesn’t have to mean the same old thing. It can be adjusted or custom made to fit the unique style and desires of an individual client.

Even the concept of what a pearl, stone or crystal is, is being redefined. People tend to think of pearls and stones in their traditional round form. CatnRose redefines these concepts by providing pearls and gemstones in unique shapes and colors. Pearls are oblong and oval. Jade is presented in green, yellow, and red.

The mission statement of CatnRose Jewelry is to allow everyone the opportunity to own and experience an exotic and unique piece of jewellery that suites their personal style or that special occasion: a meeting, a wedding or a gala affair. Jewellery that not only feels good to wear but makes you feel special. Jewellery that is classic, yet at the avant-garde of the fashion trends. Rose purposely designs her jewellery so that no one will meet themselves, yet others will know by seeing it that it is a “CatnRose”.
